MATERIAL MATTERS
Join us for the opening reception for MATERIAL MATTERS on Sunday, October 25, from 2-4 pm, at the gallery at Trade Design Build.
MATERIAL MATTERS will feature 31 artists and makers from various regions of the United States. This exhibition will showcase works in many mediums and techniques: ceramic, drawing/painting, fiber, glass, metal, paper, wood and more!

What do we value most in the places we call home? Affordability, sustainability, comfort, health, durability, beauty—and perhaps most importantly, the ability for everyone to access housing that embodies these qualities.
Join Trade Design Build, the Cornell Circular Construction Lab, and Corners Gallery on August 6 from 3-6 pm at the Trade Design Build campus just north of Ithaca for an evening of conversation examining the current housing crisis and the opportunities it presents. Bringing together perspectives from architecture, construction, development, and community practice, a panel of exciting guests will examine how we can reconcile affordability with quality, sustainability, and long-term resilience.
Afterwards, we continue the event in the gallery at Trade Design Build to celebrate the work of Cornell University's Department of Architecture students. Their recent Master of Architecture design studio investigated manufactured housing as one potential response to the growing need for high-quality, affordable homes, presenting innovative proposals that challenge conventional approaches to housing design and delivery.
We hope you'll join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion, new perspectives, and meaningful dialogue about how we can build housing that reflects the values of our communities.
